so i totally dropped the ball on self(love) saturday- seeing as it’s wednesday. but, that’s partially because i was having such a wonderful saturday morning, which i’m about to share with you. it’s also partially (ok, largely) because of good old procrastination.
i could beat myself up about my procrastination, but that wouldn’t be self love at all + you all probably didn’t notice, so all good!
the last two weeks i have discussed actions (aka self-care) + thoughts (rewiring negative thoughts to positive ones through affirmations). today i’m going to discuss surroundings. whether people, places, things, what we choose to surround ourselves with is a direct reflection of our love for ourselves + what we believe to be our self worth.
when going through a difficult time, one must look at that environment + ask, “is there something or someone or somewhere that isn’t healthy for me?” that internal reflection + often difficult decision is one that shows not only strength, but love + appreciation for ones self.
paint yourself a perfect day. who is there? where are you? what are you doing? what are you eating? what are you feeling? probably joy. now try to reenact that day. ok, while keeping it realistic + feasible. maybe not traveling via private jet with your celebrity spouse eating nothing but pizza. (but who am i to tell you that’s not possible, dream big.)

so fitting into this theme of crafting a beautiful day – my saturday morning. i woke early, met with my mom, + enjoyed a walk to animo juice on arch street in philly.
animo put together an event that combined pretty much every amazing thing. yoga, vegan food, fresh juice + mimosas. my friends courtney + taylor, from @fourtheloveofyoga, dual taught. i love taking a class where these two sisters switch on + off while the other focuses on assists. it becomes a well rounded practice + they do so very cohesively.
i was so proud of them as they led about 20 of us in a powerful flow, followed by a beautiful buffet breakfast
of vegan muffins, fruit, breakfast burritos, fresh green juice, + an amazing pumpkin chia overnight oat dish. we mingled, laughed + felt about ready for anything after a great yoga class + healthy food to fuel us. oh, + those mimosas helped too.

surround yourself with those who lift you higher, share your passions, + exude the love you want to provide yourself. eat healthy food. show up to your mat. drink green juice. have a mimosa sometimes. laugh. wake up early + get that flow in. create a personal version of that perfect day, everyday.
